• Work on Reinforcement Learning (RL) post-training of frontier Large Language Models (LLMs).
• Improve LLM capabilities particularly for instruction following, reasoning over long context, and tool use.
• Partner with technology and business teams to solve real-world problems.
• Develop innovative solutions and publish findings at peer-reviewed conferences and journals.
• Develop the science that powers countless new businesses in cloud computing.

Requirements

• PhD, or Master's degree and 6+ years of applied research experience.
• Experience programming in Java, C++, or Python.
• Experience with neural deep learning methods and machine learning.
• Experience in Postgres.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities.
• Experience in Linux/RHEL.

Nice to have

• Experience with popular deep learning frameworks such as MxNet and TensorFlow.
• First authored publications on LLM post-training in top-tier AI conferences (e.g., Neurips, ICML, ACL).
