TL;DR
Digital Signal Processing (DSP) Intern (AI): Developing and researching algorithms for high-speed Serializer-Deserializer (SerDes) IP in advanced CMOS technologies with an accent on digital communications, signal processing, and detection/estimation theory. Focus on exploring and implementing machine learning techniques, including supervised and reinforcement learning, for SerDes systems.
Location: Onsite in Ottawa, Canada
Salary: CAD 7,200–9,760 per month (hourly $45-$61)

What you will do
- Collaborate on algorithm research and development in digital communications, signal processing, and detection/estimation theory.
- Support simulation and modeling using MATLAB, Python, or C/C++ to evaluate system performance.
- Explore and implement machine learning techniques (supervised, reinforcement learning) for SerDes systems, adaptive filtering, and clock recovery.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing an MS or PhD degree (PhD preferred) in CS/EE or related technical field(s).
- Excellent Research and Development experience in Probability Theory, Detection and Estimation, Digital Communications, and Digital Signal Processing.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong programming skills in C/C++, MATLAB, or Python.
- Very good verbal and written communication skills in English.
Nice to have
- Knowledge of SerDes systems.
- Knowledge of reinforcement learning and supervised learning.
- Experience in adaptive filters, equalization, and clock recovery.
