What you will do

• Advise product, technology, and business teams on privacy, AI, and cybersecurity compliance, including privacy-by-design principles.
• Support hirify.global Verafin's strategic growth in the United Kingdom and European Union.
• Identify and interpret new compliance requirements arising from global laws and regulations.
• Serve as an escalation point for privacy and AI-related contract negotiations and maintain compliance documentation.
• Support public policy initiatives and draft responses to regulatory proposals impacting hirify.global Verafin.
• Participate in incident response and deliver privacy-related training across the organization.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (or equivalent) degree.
• Member in good standing with the Law Society of Newfoundland and Labrador or Ontario or eligible for membership.
• 5–8 years of experience in privacy, AI, or emerging technology law.
• Strong ability to collaborate across business, technology, and risk teams to deliver practical solutions.
• Clear communicator with experience in fast-paced, matrixed environments.
• Knowledge of global privacy laws, including GDPR, PIPEDA and US privacy laws.

Nice to have

• IAPP or similar professional certification.
• Experience in fintech, banking, or regulated industries.
• Exposure to global teams and cross-border compliance challenges.
