TL;DR

Product Designer: Creating holistic and elegant design systems for web applications, focusing on visual design, consistency, and pixel-perfection. Accent on collaborating with creative and technical teams to ensure designs are accessible, adaptive, and technically feasible. Focus on stress-testing designs, creating prototypes, and defining design rationale.

Location: Hybrid in San Jose, Costa Rica (3 days on-site per week)

What you will do

• Contribute to the creation of holistic, elegant design systems with a high degree of polish and attention to detail.
• Audit current implementations and identify areas for simplification and improved consistency.
• Design with flexibility in mind, ensuring accessibility and adaptability across various workflows and technologies.
• Create prototypes to convey states, transitions, and behaviors, and prepare design files for final documentation.
• Communicate design flexibilities and limitations to both design and development teams.
• Collaborate with Art Directors and technical disciplines to explore design options and ensure feasibility.

Requirements

• Pixel-perfect digital design portfolio highlighting storytelling and problem-solving.
• Keen interest in championing brand identity through consistency and flexibility.
• Proficiency in formal design elements, with a strong focus on typography, balance, and proportion.
• 3 years’ experience in product design, especially for web, defining or extending design systems, or working within brand style guidelines.
• Expertise in Figma, Photoshop, and Sketch, including file organization and preparation of pixel-perfect files.
• Strong understanding of web development, including HTML and CSS, and UX/UI experience.
