VUZ (UAE-based company https://vuz.com/) is seeking a Backend Engineer with enterprise-scale experience in Nest.js/TypeScript. You’ll design, build, and operate high-performance services and APIs that power our platform.

Work format: remote, full-time
Office Location: UAE
Salary: 3000-4000 USD

What you’ll do:
Own scalable server-side apps using Node.js, TypeScript, NestJS.
Design and implement robust, RESTful APIs for web/app clients and external integrations.
Build and evolve microservices with a focus on scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
Implement authN/authZ and security best practices across services.
Optimize performance: API latency, database queries, caching, and throughput.
Deploy and operate on AWS (e.g., EC2, S3, RDS, ElastiCache, Lambda).
Use containers (Docker/Kubernetes); automate CI/CD, rollbacks, and blue/green or rolling releases.
Write and maintain unit/integration/e2e tests; own monitoring, logging, and alerting.
Collaborate with Product, Frontend, and DevOps to deliver high-impact features.

What you’ll bring:
5 years building enterprise-level backend systems.
Expert Node.js with a deep understanding of async patterns and the event loop.
Strong TypeScript for maintainable, type-safe services.
Production experience with NestJS/Express/Fastify.
Advanced MySQL (schema design, indexing, query optimization).
Solid with NoSQL: MongoDB, Redis (know when to use which).
Strong API design (REST) and documentation habits.
Experience with message queues / event-driven systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ, or AWS SQS).
Microservices architecture and Docker/Kubernetes in production.
