TL;DR

Machine Learning Manager (AI/Data Science): Developing and growing high-performing teams of data scientists and ML engineers, partnering to innovate with machine learning to optimize decisions with an accent on defining team vision, delivering on goals, and safeguarding psychological safety. Focus on assessing technical performance, managing resourcing, providing coaching, and ensuring effective deployment and maintenance of ML models and systems.

Location: Hybrid (2-3 times/week) in São Paulo, Brazil

• Develop and grow high-performing teams of data scientists and ML engineers.
• Define team vision, set clear goals, provide context, and remove obstacles.
• Ensure team and individual health, psychological safety, and provide timely feedback.
• Manage performance reviews and other administrative functions of people management.
• Partner across the company to innovate with machine learning and optimize decisions.

Requirements

• Strong technical background in data science and machine learning disciplines.
• Experience creating, deploying, and maintaining ML models and systems using modern frameworks.
• Familiarity with cloud-based services (AWS, GCP, Azure) and software engineering/architecture principles.
• Understanding of data engineering routines, pipelines, and job scheduling frameworks.
• Good understanding of the software development lifecycle and data science modeling lifecycle.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work across diverse teams.
