What you will do
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the company's software platforms, business logic, and infrastructure.
- Lead the design and planning of technical and product initiatives, making informed engineering decisions.
- Collaborate within a cross-functional team to deliver high-quality software solutions, taking ownership of the team’s output.
- Mentor engineers through code reviews, pair programming, and project leadership.
- Identify technical challenges and lead the development of effective solutions, enhancing team collaboration.
- Clearly communicate technical decisions, standards, and processes, fostering a culture of transparency and shared ownership.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in designing and building robust, scalable software systems.
- Deep expertise in Java and frameworks like Spring and Spring Boot.
- Strong SQL and relational database design skills, including performance tuning and query optimization.
- Proficient in designing and consuming RESTful APIs, with familiarity with OpenAPI for documentation.
- Comfortable working with modern frontend frameworks such as Angular and React.
- Experience or familiarity with tools like MySQL, Kafka, Zookeeper, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Skilled in version control, build configuration, automation tooling, and advocating for software quality through automated and manual testing.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts.
- Must be based in Malta or open to relocation (full relocation package provided).
