What you will do
- Architect, manage, and scale cloud-native PostgreSQL and MongoDB clusters (primarily AWS RDS/Aurora, MongoDB Atlas).
- Implement and maintain schema change automation using tools like Liquibase or Flyway.
- Collaborate with engineering teams on schema design, query optimization, indexing strategies, and ORM tuning.
- Establish and evolve database CI/CD pipelines integrated with GitOps practices.
- Monitor database health and performance using observability tools such as CloudWatch, Datadog, Prometheus/Grafana.
- Drive automation for routine database operations including failover, backup validation, and data masking.
Requirements
- 5+ years of production experience with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and MySQL, including high-availability and disaster recovery setups.
- Proven experience with cloud-managed databases (e.g., AWS RDS, Aurora, DocumentDB).
- Strong SQL and NoSQL tuning skills, with deep knowledge of query plans, vacuum/analyze, and index strategies.
- Hands-on experience with Liquibase, Flyway, or similar tools for version-controlled schema management.
- Proficiency in scripting with Python, Bash, or Go for automation.
- Familiarity with AWS CLI/SDK, Terraform, or CloudFormation for database Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC).
