Senior Business Analyst (Credit Risk)

TL;DR

Senior Business Analyst (Credit Risk): Leads the development of data-driven credit policies and business strategies to optimize underwriting and minimize portfolio risk. Focus on leveraging diverse data sources to enhance the analytics framework, improve credit monitoring, and support scalable business growth.

Location: This role is based out of Mexico City, Mexico, and is a full-time hybrid position where it is required to come into our office in Roma Norte (2–3 days/week).

What you will do

• Lead the development of data-driven credit policies and business strategies leveraging internal and external data.
• Minimize credit loss by implementing processes to identify and mitigate high-risk customers.
• Contribute to the development of a data and analytics framework for processing, underwriting, and risk management.
• Design and execute data-driven analyses to enhance insights on credit risk for individual and portfolio companies.
• Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for credit portfolios and build dashboards.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior analysts.

Requirements

• 4+ years in analytics within credit risk management.
• Fluent in English for internal communication.
• Experience in commercial credit risk, specifically within credit cards, payments, or lending.
• Proven ability to translate complex data and model results into actionable business strategies.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL and Excel.
• Experience using Python or R for data analysis and statistical modeling.

Nice to have

• Experience in architecting, implementing, and interpreting risk/scoring models.
• Experience in high growth startups.
• Experience with visualization tools such as Tableau.
• Experience building complex financial products and models.
