Salary: C$126,800 to C$162,300 per year

What you will do

• Create fur/feather/hair grooms for characters, creatures, and props using off-the-shelf and ILM proprietary tools.
• Support other artists, ensuring they meet show requirements.
• Collaborate with Creature TDs to determine dynamics requirements and solutions.
• Work closely with Modeling, Lookdev, and Textures departments for technical, aesthetic, and schedule needs.
• Drive the production schedule, ensuring work is understood, bids are appropriate, and assets are delivered efficiently.
• Train and mentor new artists, providing technical assistance to show supervisors.

Requirements

• 5+ years of proven experience within a high-end VFX facility.
• Good knowledge and experience in developing toolsets, templates, and defining workflows.
• Experience leading and mentoring other artists.
• Demo reel and portfolio illustrating knowledge and experience in high-end VFX.
• Attention to detail and proven grooming skills within a high-end VFX production environment.
• Expert in Houdini.

Nice to have

• Good organizational skills.
• Proficient in Maya, Mari, Zbrush, Photoshop.
• Ability to liaise with various parts of the Computer Graphics pipeline.
• Ability to navigate complex Computer Graphics pipelines.
