Systems Engineer (Semiconductor)

TL;DR

Systems Engineer (Semiconductor): Leading the definition of next-generation integrated circuits (ICs) for the Industrial business with an accent on technical leadership, customer engagement, and product vision. Location: Must be based within commutable distance of the Edinburgh office, UK, or Newbury office, England, or willing to relocate prior to beginning employment.

What you will do

• Lead new concept investigations and conduct feasibility studies and competitive technical analysis.
• Own product architecture definition and capture system requirements in collaboration with customers and internal teams.
• Engage with customers to present product concepts and specifications.
• Drive technical direction by influencing architectural decisions and technology roadmaps.
• Provide guidance on product development strategy to cross-functional engineering teams.
• Participate in IC and board-level design reviews.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (or equivalent), with strong foundational EE skills.
• Proven analytical and communication skills.
• Collaborative mindset and logical approach to problem-solving across functional boundaries.
• Natural ability to rapidly learn new concepts and technologies.
• Experience working directly with customers and translating market needs into engineering solutions.
• Able to manage competing priorities and thrives in fast-paced environments.

Nice to have

• Background in semiconductor product definition, system architecture, or mixed-signal IC design for low-power applications.
• Experience with ICs or electronic systems for Industrial applications within Industry 4.0, Electrification, and/or Smart Infrastructure.
