TL;DR

Senior Digital Design Engineer (IC Design): Designing and developing new digital circuit architectures from concept through production on advanced process nodes with an accent on complex mixed-signal products and IP quality. Focus on implementing complex digital circuits in RTL, understanding system-level design, and collaborating on high-performance SoC development.

Location: Hybrid in Edinburgh, Scotland. Candidates must live within commutable distance or be willing to relocate.

What you will do

  • Design and develop new digital circuit architectures from concept, architecture, design, and integration through to production on advanced process nodes.
  • Collaborate with a team of engineers for the delivery of complex mixed-signal products and IPs.
  • Contribute to technical reviews and ensure IP quality using checklists.
  • Influence the growth of the team through supervision of junior engineers.

Requirements

  • Extensive proven background in digital CMOS circuit design.
  • Implementation of complex digital circuits and sub-systems in RTL using Verilog / SystemVerilog.
  • Understanding of digital system-level design, including standard bus protocols and chip-level clock/reset architectures.
  • Verification of block-level digital designs.
  • Understanding of synthesis and timing analysis of digital circuits.
  • Candidates must be able to access technical data without a requirement for an export license.

Nice to have

  • Understanding, appreciation, and passion for mixed-signal engineering.
  • Experience working within UVM based verification environments and scripting/automation of design tasks.
  • Experience with AMBA, SPI, I2C protocols.
  • Lab and silicon validation skills, including chip bring-up and debug.
  • Good understanding of Linting, CDC, RDC tools, and collaboration with DFT and Place and Route teams.
  • Experience with ARM, RISC-V, or similar microcontrollers, memory controllers, and DSP filter design using MATLAB.
