TL;DR
Senior System Emulation And Evaluation Engineer (ASIC/FPGA): Developing and testing mixed-signal ASICs by porting RTL to FPGAs and designing test benches for pre-Si validation and Proof-of-Concept investigations. Focus on debugging hardware, firmware, and software in a system, and constructing automated regression tests for complete designs.
Location: This role is based in either our Edinburgh office or Newbury office in the United Kingdom. This is an on-site position. You must be based within commutable distance of the work location listed on the job posting, or willing to relocate prior to beginning employment with .

What you will do
- Assist in ASIC product development and test processes.
- Port ASIC RTL code onto FPGA for pre-Si testing and Proof-of-Concept investigations.
- Design test benches on FPGAs for mixed-signal device testing.
- Interpret requirements into test plans to identify architectural improvements and bugs.
- Test and analyze different blocks on the FPGA, aiming for automated regression tests.
- Contribute to product definition, prototype evaluation, and product release.
Requirements
- Master’s/Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering.
- Familiarity with FPGA devices and associated tool flows.
- Experience with hands-on bench testing and debugging of hardware, firmware, and software.
- Experience with in-circuit emulators and bus interfaces/analysers.
- Strong diagnostic, analytical, and communication skills.
- Must work on-site in Edinburgh or Newbury, United Kingdom.
- Must be willing to relocate to the United Kingdom if not already commutable.
- Must be able to access technical data without a requirement for an export license.
Nice to have
- Experience with PCB schematic designs and layout reviews.
- Experience working in the semiconductor industry.
- Python scripting experience.
- Familiarity with DACs/ADCs/DSPs.
