Senior Embedded Software Test Engineer

Location: Hybrid in Austin, Texas. Candidates must be able to access technical data without an export license and US work authorization is required.

What you will do

• Design and develop test plans for new features and products, translating requirements into test cases.
• Implement tests during the pre-silicon and post-silicon phases of product development.
• Communicate with cross-functional teams and represent the team in discussions and reviews.
• Drive the automation of all tests within a Continuous Integration environment.
• Find, triage, and debug issues with software teams.
• Present test results to product owners, internal customers, and software developers to assist in defect resolution.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or Computer Engineering with a minimum of 5 years of experience OR Master's degree with a minimum of 3 years of experience.
• Experience in embedded systems and Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS).
• Experience with a variety of MCU and DSP cores/processors.
• Proficiency with scripting or programming languages such as Python/shell, C, C++.
• Understanding of software testing and test automation principles.
• Excellent debugging and problem-solving skills, including experience with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, signal generators, logic analyzers).
• Must be able to access technical data without an export license.

Nice to have

• Experience with Jira, svn/git, and continuous integration systems (e.g., Jenkins).
• Familiarity with defect management practices and SDLC.
• Experience with Agile Scrum software development.
• Experience developing and implementing embedded software tests on development boards.
