Director, Counsel, Commercial (Legaltech): Serving as the lead attorney for commercial matters across EMEA, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide variety of agreements with an accent on AI, automation, and legal technology. Focus on providing legal support for creative and marketing contracting, as well as partnering with cross-functional teams to structure deals.

Location: This is a Barcelona based role, with a hybrid working model. Qualified candidates currently based in other jurisdictions with the ability to relocate are welcome to apply.

What you will do

• Serve as the lead attorney for a broad range of commercial matters supporting hirify.global’s Barcelona-based teams and initiatives.
• Draft, review, negotiate, and advise on a wide variety of agreements, including AI, adtech, marketing technology, SaaS, vendor, and data processing agreements.
• Act as the primary legal advisor to hirify.global’s in-house creative agency, leading legal support for creative and marketing contracting.
• Partner closely with Marketing, Sales, Product, Procurement, Finance, and Business Operations teams to structure deals.
• Actively leverage legal technology, AI tools, and automation to improve contract review, drafting, and issue-spotting.
• Work closely with colleagues across Legal, including Privacy, Product, Employment, and Corporate, to ensure alignment on risk, strategy, and execution.

Requirements

• Fluent in Spanish and English
• Law degree from an accredited institution and qualification to practice law in Spain or another EU jurisdiction and/or in-house qualification (additional qualifications a plus).
• 5–8+ years of legal experience, with a strong focus on complex commercial transactions.
• Experience in technology, gaming, digital media, adtech, or SaaS-driven businesses preferred.
• Demonstrated, hands-on experience using AI tools, automation, or legal technology in legal workflows.
• Comfort working in a global organization across time zones and cultures.
