What you will do

• Provide technical leadership, owning design and evolution of large-scale, business-critical systems.
• Set architectural direction, leading system design and technology strategy across teams.
• Partner with Product, Design, and Engineering leadership to translate business outcomes into scalable solutions.
• Operate across the full system lifecycle, including production operations, reliability, and cost optimisation.
• Raise the technical bar by defining engineering standards and mentoring senior engineers.
• Champion engineering excellence through testing, CI/CD, observability, and operational readiness.

Requirements

• Strong technical foundation in computer science or a closely related discipline.
• Extensive experience building and operating production systems at scale (often 10+ years in industry).
• Deep understanding of core computer science concepts (data structures, algorithms, system design).
• Proven ability to design, write, and evolve high-quality software in modern programming languages.
• Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and influencing skills with a collaborative leadership mindset.
