TL;DR
Java Engineer (Data Platform Framework): Developing and optimizing backend services and data pipelines for live sports events with an accent on scalability, real-time data processing, and cloud infrastructure. Location: Hybrid in Budapest, Hungary (2 days a week in office minimum)
Salary: HUF 1,000,000 - 1,500,000 per month

What you will do
- Develop, optimize, and maintain backend services using Java and internal frameworks
- Build and manage data pipelines for sports operations
- Deploy and scale applications on AWS using Lambda, S3, Apache Flink, etc.
- Work with event-driven architectures and distributed systems
- Collaborate with backend engineers to meet project deadlines
- Ensure system reliability and performance in real-time, high-traffic environments
Requirements
- Location: Must work hybrid in Budapest, Hungary (minimum 2 days in office)
- Strong Java experience (Java 11+ preferred)
- Experience with AWS and cloud infrastructure
- Familiarity with observability tools like Datadog, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry
- Experience with microservices, distributed systems, and event-driven architectures
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Nice to have
- Experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS
- Knowledge of stream-processing (Flink, Spark, Kafka Streams)
- CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (GitHub Actions, Terraform)
- Exposure to real-time data processing and sports technology
