TL;DR

Technical Director (GameDev): Defines and drives the technical strategy for multi-platform games, leading and mentoring engineering teams across Unity, Unreal Engine, and proprietary technologies. Focus on establishing engineering best practices, ensuring technical feasibility with design, and solving complex technical challenges across development and live phases.

What you will do

Define and drive the studio’s technical strategy across multiple projects.
Lead and mentor engineering teams across Unity, Unreal Engine, and proprietary toolsets.
Establish and ensure engineering best practices, coding standards, performance targets, and technical pipelines.
Partner with discipline leads ensuring technical feasibility and alignment with design and production goals.
Oversee online systems, networking architecture, and multiplayer gameplay support where applicable.
Contribute to hiring, onboarding, and career development of engineering talent.

Requirements

10+ years professional experience in game development.
3 or more shipped titles, including at least one shipped console game.
5+ years of engineering management or technical leadership experience.
Strong proficiency with both Unity and Unreal Engine.
Experience developing online and multiplayer gameplay systems.
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and conflict-resolution skills.
Able to maintain a distraction-free workspace for at least 6 hours per day.

Nice to have

Experience working within co-development environments.
Familiarity with multiple platform certification and optimization pipelines.
Live-ops experience supporting games post-launch.
Technical oversight across PC, console, mobile and VR platforms.
Experience leading fully remote engineering teams.
