Location: This position is offered with a Flex Work approach that is truly flexible to support where, when, and how you do your best work. While the base hourly range is for San Francisco/Bay Area, it can vary if outside of this location.

What you will do

• Build and extend local APIs using Python and FastAPI.
• Design and implement an MCP server and MCP client on Windows.
• Create event-driven workflows that trigger Dolby processing using natural language prompts or button presses.
• Collaborate with senior engineers on architecture, user research, and product value discovery.
• Demonstrate your work and generate technical documentation.

Requirements

• Working toward a Bachelor's or Master's degree in software development or AI engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Excellent skill with Python and familiarity with C++ and interoperability libraries like pybind11.
• Familiarity with FastAPI, FastMCP, the Python MCP SDK, or similar Python AI frameworks.
• Understanding of APIs and API services, such as AWS Bedrock, Anthropic API, and OpenAI API.
• Familiarity with agentic frameworks (e.g., LangChain, LangGraph, AutoGen) and prompt engineering, RAG, and structured outputs.
• Familiarity with the Windows development environment, including Microsoft Visual Studio and Windows MCP development tools.
• Must be available to work full-time Monday – Friday for 3 months between May/June 2026– August/September 2026.

Nice to have

• Experience designing MCP servers and MCP clients.
• Familiarity with event-driven systems and Windows audio APIs (ISpatialAudioClient, ISpatialAudioMetadata, WASAPI).
• Familiarity communicating with Windows USB Human Interface Devices (HIDs).
• Experience with software test development and automated test frameworks, such as pytest or Googletest.
• Interest in audio/video processing, accessibility technologies, and multimedia.
