TL;DR

Software Engineer 2 (AI/NLP): Developing core technologies and E2E production delivery by leveraging State-of-Art AI technologies with an accent on RAG Systems and Generative Answers. Focus on building world-class systems with novel NLP techniques and delivering both research and production impact.

Location: Beijing, China. Employees within a 25-mile commute of a designated Microsoft office in China are expected to work from the office at least four days per week.

What you will do

• Develop core technologies and ensure end-to-end production delivery using state-of-the-art AI.
• Address product challenges and translate novel ideas into production applications.
• Contribute to RAG systems and generative AI solutions for web search and enterprise services.
• Explore cutting-edge NLP and multi-modal techniques to deliver research and production impact.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field AND 2+ years of technical engineering experience OR Master’s Degree with 1+ year related experience OR Doctorate.
• Proficiency in coding languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
• 2+ years of experience in statistics, predictive analytics, or research.

Nice to have

• Master’s Degree in Computer Science with 3+ years experience OR Bachelor’s with 5+ years experience.
• 1+ year experience creating publications (e.g., patents, peer-reviewed academic papers).
