What you will do

• Scope and design NLP/NLU applications for clinical document understanding and medical workflows.
• Develop and evaluate deep learning models including transformer architectures and attention mechanisms.
• Process and enrich structured and unstructured medical datasets for LLMs and agentic AI.
• Mitigate model risks such as bias, drift, and hallucination to ensure reliability in clinical settings.
• Deploy production-grade models within cloud environments, ensuring compliance and observability.
• Collaborate with clinical experts and ML engineers to bridge research prototypes with production systems.

Requirements

• US citizenship or permanent residency required
• Master's degree or PhD in a quantitative field or Bachelor's with 5+ years of relevant experience
• Solid experience in Python, specifically for deep learning with PyTorch and Transformers
• Strong foundation in statistics and exploratory data analysis
• Must be legally authorized to work in the US without sponsorship

Nice to have

• Experience with research-driven NLP/NLU, representation learning, or hybrid architectures
• Hands-on experience with LLMs, prompting, fine-tuning, or agentic frameworks
• Familiarity with AWS, GitHub, CI/CD, and scalable ML deployment practices
• Experience with ETL of large-scale text using Spark NLP or distributed frameworks
• Exposure to clinical coding systems like ICD, CPT, or SNOMED
