What you will do

• Counsel business teams and stakeholders on consumer financial services laws and regulations for products and services.
• Support origination and servicing of loan and payment products.
• Provide strategic advice regarding Australia consumer finance and protection laws.
• Monitor legal and regulatory developments in consumer lending and servicing.
• Draft terms and conditions, disclosures, and review copy.
• Identify and evaluate business and legal risks, acting as a partner for creative legal problem-solving.

Requirements

• Qualified lawyer in Australia or UK or equivalent jurisdiction.
• Minimum of 5 years, ideally 7 years, of professional legal experience.
• Established expertise in all areas of the consumer credit lifecycle, including originations, underwriting, licensing, KYC/AML, servicing, credit reporting, and collections.
• 6+ years of related business, government, or fintech experience.
• Ability to work independently and learn other jurisdiction regulations and laws.
• Strong project management, critical thinking, creativity, and analytical skills.
