TL;DR

2D Animator (Gamedev): Creating original 2D 3-15 sec animated shorts and in-game assets for a cozy idle game targeted at female players with an accent on storytelling through short animations. Focus on concepting, illustrating, and animating loops and short compelling stories for TikTok and Instagram channels.

Location: Remote in Canada only. Candidates willing to relocate to British Columbia are preferred, but not required.

What you will do

• Understand the Adorable Garden's audience to tailor art and visual experiences.
• Concept and storyboard original ideas based on themes or prompts, incorporating feedback from the Game and Art Director.
• Drive emotion through concise 3-5 second animated loops.
• Create art assets in a cozy art style using exaggerated proportions and a pastel color palette.
• Brainstorm and collaborate within a creative team.

Requirements

• Portfolio or demo reel showcasing a range of animations.
• Strong sense of how to use animation to drive emotion.
• Innate understanding of trends for the female mobile audience.
• Strong design, color, composition, typography, and ideation skills.
• Experience in illustrating characters, environments, and game assets for hybrid casual games.
• Excellent knowledge of Photoshop, Clip Studio, or equivalent.

Nice to have

• 1+ year of professional experience as an artist.
• Knowledge of Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Unity.
• TikTok / Instagram with original 2D animated content with 50K+ views.
