Scrum Master

TL;DR

Scrum Master: Enabling a single Scrum team to deliver strategic initiatives by implementing Agile practices and fostering continuous improvement with an accent on facilitating Agile ceremonies, removing impediments, and ensuring efficient collaboration. Focus on driving value delivery, building high-performing teams, and promoting Agile quality practices like TDD and CI/CD.

Location: Hybrid work schedule required from hirify.global’s Calgary, Alberta office (three in-office days and two work-from-home days each week). Preference will be given to candidates who reside within a commutable distance of Calgary.

What you will do

• Collaborate with stakeholders, Product Managers, Product Owners, and Engineers to plan and deliver strategic initiatives on time.
• Facilitate Agile ceremonies (Backlog Refinement, Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Sprint Review, Retrospective) to drive continuous improvement.
• Guide the team in identifying and addressing dependencies and risks during Big Room Planning (PI Planning).
• Support the Product Owner with product discovery and backlog management, including coaching on refinement and estimation.
• Build a high-performing, self-organizing team by fostering cohesion and collaboration.
• Identify and remove impediments affecting team delivery and promote Agile metrics to track performance.

Requirements

• BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related area.
• 3+ years of experience in Project Management and Agile methodologies (Scrum, SAFe, etc.).
• Proficiency in Agile tools like Jira, Confluence, or Jira Align.
• Experience managing SaaS product development or large-scale enterprise solutions.
• Proven success in leading Agile transitions and fostering collaboration in cross-functional teams.
• Strong communication skills and ability to influence without direct authority.

• PSM I or Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) is preferred.
