UX/UI Designer (Software)

TL;DR

UX/UI Designer (Software): Crafting innovative, user-centered designs for i2 products and services, with an accent on user research, usability testing, and transforming insights into wireframes and prototypes for actionable intelligence solutions. Focus on designing intuitive interfaces that deliver exceptional experiences and continuously refining solutions based on feedback and data analysis.

Location: Hybrid, remote with required occasional office visits (approx. 2 days per month) to Cambridge, UK. Must be based in the United Kingdom.

What you will do

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project goals and gather requirements.
• Conduct user research, usability testing, and other methods to uncover user needs and demonstrate design impact.
• Design intuitive, user-centred interfaces that deliver exceptional experiences.
• Continuously refine solutions based on feedback from sponsor users, SMEs, and data analysis.
• Present design concepts to stakeholders, customers, and partners.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience in UX design for web & desktop applications.
• Expert proficiency in Figma, including advanced features like variables, component libraries, and interactive prototypes.
• Strong background in user research and usability testing.
• Deep understanding of design principles and user-centred methodologies.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and collaboration skills.
• Experience designing accessible interfaces.

Nice to have

• A portfolio showcasing visual analysis solutions or experience with link analysis, statistical, or GIS tools.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum environments.
• Experience using AI as part of the design process.
• An interest in using ontologies and schemas to model complex data.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Interaction Design, HCI, or a related field.
