Location: Hybrid (Cape Town, South Africa), requiring 2-3 days per week in-office.

What you will do

• Join a new cross-functional squad to build a ground-up platform that will deliver a market-leading product.
• Architect novel technologies from 0 to 1.
• Contribute ideas and ways of working to improve processes.
• Mentor more junior members of the team and share knowledge.
• Lead large projects involving multiple engineers.

Requirements

• Expert knowledge of JavaScript and TypeScript.
• Strong knowledge of React and SSR frameworks such as Remix or Next.js.
• Experience building services using Node.js and technologies like Fastify or Express.js.
• Experience working in an Agile Scrum environment.
• Proficiency in unit and functional testing, using tools such as Jest, React Testing Library and Enzyme.
• Good knowledge of build tools such as Webpack, and/or RollUp, and CI tooling (e.g. Jenkins, Circle CI).
• Commitment to a hybrid schedule, working 2-3 days per week in the Cape Town office.

Nice to have

• Desire to get involved with deployment pipeline technologies like AWS and Docker.
• Strong collaboration skills and impulse to share knowledge across the Frontend team and wider tech community.
• Opinions on what technologies and standards should be used now and in the future.
