hirify.global is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to take ownership of mission-critical backend systems that power real-time, high-throughput applications.

What you will do

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable backend services using Node.js (Express) and TypeScript.
• Design schemas, write and optimize SQL, and improve PostgreSQL performance.
• Build and operate real-time features using WebSockets, ensuring stability under load.
• Improve throughput and latency, and proactively address bottlenecks across services, infrastructure, and the database.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues across the stack and AWS infrastructure, and implement long-term fixes.
• Work closely with product owners and engineering teams to deliver high-impact features with predictable execution.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Senior Backend Engineer delivering production systems at scale.
• Strong expertise in Node.js and Express with TypeScript.
• Strong proficiency in PostgreSQL, including schema design, migrations, data modeling, and query optimization.
• Hands-on experience with WebSockets and real-time systems.
• Solid experience with AWS, including deploying and operating backend services.
• Understanding of cloud-native concepts such as scalability, high availability, observability, and security.

Nice to have

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK).
• Experience with React.js and state management (Mobx is a plus) for occasional frontend contributions.
• Experience with crypto transactions.
• Familiarity with testing frameworks like Jest or Mocha.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams.
