Engine C++ Developer (Gamedev)

TL;DR

Engine C++ Developer (Gamedev): Developing technological solutions for the game client engine and game tools for World of Warships, with an accent on ensuring stability and performance. Focus on writing solid code with performance and memory usage in mind, debugging engine-level code, and identifying bottlenecks to optimize code.

Location: Hybrid (3 days of work from the office). This role isn't eligible for relocation & immigration support. Must be based in Serbia.

What you will do

• Develop technological solutions for the game client engine and game tools.
• Provide Code Review and give technical feedback to teammates.
• Ensure stability and performance of the game.
• Maintain high software quality and fix bugs.
• Write solid code with a focus on performance and memory usage.

Requirements

• Strong technical background.
• 4+ years of experience in commercial C++ development.
• Experience with multithreaded programming.
• Experience in identifying bottlenecks and optimizing existing / future code.
• Deep understanding of algorithms and data structures.
• Knowledge of linear algebra (vectors, matrices, quaternions).
• Ability to debug engine-level code.
• Ability to research existing approaches and adapt those to new or modified uses.
• Strong code and system design skills.
• Problem-solving skills.
• Understanding of the base concept of game engines.
• Knowledge and experience in UI development.
• English – B2 and above.

Nice to have

• Experience with the Python programming language.
• Huge experience with Code Review.
• Basic understanding of computer graphics.
• Experience with in-house game engines or a deep understanding of their architecture.
