Mid Backend Developer (PHP/Laravel)

TL;DR

Location: Remote-first, but must be based in Portugal due to occasional travelling for team events.

What you will do

• Develop and maintain scalable, high-performance backend systems using PHP and Laravel.
• Collaborate with Frontend Developers, AI experts, and Partnerships to build new features and integrations.
• Design and implement clean, efficient APIs and backend services.
• Continuously identify opportunities to improve code quality, security, and system performance.
• Work with Redis and Elasticsearch to support caching and search functionality.
• Participate in agile development processes and team discussions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years of experience in backend development.
• Proficiency with PHP and the Laravel framework.
• Solid experience with MongoDB and MySQL, including optimization and performance tuning.
• Working knowledge of Redis and Elasticsearch.
• Familiarity with RESTful API design and best practices.
• Experience using Git for version control.
• Fluency in English (written and spoken).
• Must be based in Portugal.

Nice to have

• Experience with Cloud platforms like AWS or Google Cloud.
• Familiarity with Jira and an understanding of Agile methodologies.
• Experience with Property Management System (PMS) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) integrations.
