Software Engineer 2 (AI): Building a platform to provide Large Language Models (LLMs) with up-to-date web information to reduce hallucinations and increase user confidence with an accent on API design, platform development, and integration with AI and Search experiences. Focus on designing, developing, and deploying high-quality services, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security, and driving customer-focused feature development.

Location: Barcelona, Spain. Expected to work from the office at least four days per week if within a 25-mile commute of a designated Microsoft office from January 26, 2026.

What you will do

• Deliver high-quality services that will power AI and Search experiences across products.
• Ensure the quality, scalability, reliability, security, and maintainability of services.
• Participate in design and code reviews, and contribute to the development of a clean, well-documented codebase.
• Stay current with the latest developments in AI, Search, and development, and bring innovative ideas and insights to the team.
• Help other team members plan and execute technical deliverables with the required quality.
• Coordinate and orchestrate product requirements gathered from partners.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field OR equivalent experience.
• Solid experience in designing, developing, shipping, and troubleshooting web services.
• Solid coding, debugging, and algorithm design skills.
• Expertise in backend technologies such as C, C++, C#, Java, TypeScript, or Python.
• Familiarity with cloud computing platforms such as Azure or AWS.
• Effective communication skills.

• Expertise in front-end technologies.

• Prior experience with API platform development.
