Devops Programmer (Gamedev)

TL;DR

Devops Programmer (Gamedev): Responsible for running the AWS infrastructure for the development and production environments for hirify.global projects with an accent on managing microservices in multiple clouds. Focus on identifying root causes of issues and fixing most issues independently during on-call scenarios.

Location: Rockville, MD; Montreal, Quebec; Austin, TX; Dallas, TX. Must be based in or be able to relocate to the USA or Canada.

Salary: $80,000 - $175,000 per year.

What you will do

• Manage the AWS infrastructure for development and production environments.
• Assist with and manage microservices in multiple clouds.
• Accurately estimate schedules and deliver high-quality work.
• Participate in a 24/7 on-call schedule with colleagues.

Requirements

• Previous experience building and running distributed applications in AWS.
• Expertise in Linux (Ubuntu, RedHat, Debian).
• Comfortable writing code in Python.
• Strong experience using configuration management solutions (Salt, Puppet, Chef, Ansible).
• Experience using source control for code management (Git, Perforce, SVN, etc.).
• Ability to write or modify large code changes that affect scripts and infrastructure code.
• Certified in Basic Security Principals and Cloud Account Administration in at least one cloud platform.
• Ability to identify root causes of issues and fix most issues independently during on-call scenarios.
• Proactive identification of alerting trends and creation of development tasks to address those trends.
• Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication upwards, breaking down technical concepts for all employees.
