Technical Artist (Game Development): Integrating and contributing to a team creating innovative digital experiences with an accent on in-depth shader and post-process knowledge. Focus on troubleshooting art pipelines, optimizing game art, and creating material shaders and blueprints.

Location: Must be based in the UK, working from the studio in Liverpool.

What you will do

• Troubleshoot art pipelines and provide solutions.
• Propose optimization suggestions for all aspects of art within a game.
• Create and optimize material shaders and blueprints.
• Collaborate closely with code and art teams.
• Critique and iterate within a group.
• Follow and recreate established art styles.

Requirements

• Must be based in the UK.
• Experience creating and optimizing shaders.
• Strong and versatile VFX skills.
• Experience in Unreal Engine 4 (Unreal Engine 5 experience is beneficial).
• Experience using Maya.
• Blueprint experience.
• An artistic education to at least graduate level.
• Strong folio including examples of shader work.

Nice to have

• Experience with iterative development and rapid gameplay prototyping.
• Console development experience.
• Lighting skills.
• Houdini knowledge.
