Network Security Specialist

TL;DR

Network Security Specialist (Cybersecurity): Supporting global offices and data centers to ensure secure, reliable connectivity with an accent on triaging network and security requests, performing upgrades, and troubleshooting. Focus on maintaining firewall policies, replacing hardware, and ensuring high availability of critical infrastructure.

Location: This is a hybrid role, working from our Chicago, IL or Overland Park, KS office. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship now or in the future. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Salary: $85,000–$105,000 (US national base pay range)

What you will do

• Monitor and resolve tickets from both network and security queues.
• Troubleshoot network connectivity issues including firewalls, routers, switches, and wireless access points.
• Perform software and code upgrades on network and firewall devices.
• Review and maintain firewall policies and rulesets.
• Replace and validate network and firewall hardware as needed.
• Assist with maintaining high availability across all critical systems.

Requirements

• 1–2 years of experience in networking or network operations/support.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, and customer service skills.
• Network support experience with routing, switching, and wireless technologies.
• Familiarity with firewall administration.
• Working knowledge of ACLs and general network troubleshooting.

Nice to have

• Scripting experience (Python).
• Certifications such as CCNA, Network+, Security+, or PCCET.
