Software Engineer (Fullstack)

TL;DR

Software Engineer (Fullstack): Developing and maintaining fullstack applications and implementing new features to enhance digital presence and customer engagement with an accent on API design, microservices, and user experience. Focus on writing modular, clean, testable applications and contributing to the wider engineering community within the bank.

Location: Edinburgh, Hybrid (minimum 40% in the office)

Salary: £47,790 - £58,410

• Understand Agile software development and support continuous improvement within your team.
• Write modular, clean, testable applications using design principles and patterns.
• Contribute to the delivery of the hirify.global Protection offering.

• Learn from and collaborate with colleagues, providing and receiving constructive feedback.

Requirements

• Experience designing and building RESTful APIs (microservices) and strongly typed applications with TypeScript.
• Proficiency with React and NodeJS for full stack development.
• Experience with industry-standard testing libraries such as SuperTest and PlayWright.
• Confidence in designing, building, testing, and deploying services into a cloud environment.
• Strong understanding of Git, Agile development practices, CI, and test automation (TDD, BDD).
• Ability to collaborate effectively with peers and senior engineers.

Nice to have

• Experience with NestJS, Kubernetes, and Docker.
• Experience building/maintaining CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
• Familiarity with GCP.
