Network Engineer (Starshield): Driving the operation, build, and deployment of the Starshield service provider network, supporting national security missions with an accent on network design, security, performance, and reliability. What you will do
- Manage and expand network interconnections, co-location sites, and Points of Presence (POPs).
- Oversee network infrastructure and deployments to Top Secret datacenters.
- Improve network performance and reliability, including capacity planning and failure remediation.
- Lead network integration and troubleshooting efforts.
- Collaborate with hardware, software, and network engineers to enhance Starshield network design.
- Build automation for network devices, operational, and deployment tools.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in technical/engineering OR 4+ years of professional networking experience.
- 1+ year of networking experience with enterprise or cloud/web-scale networks.
- Hands-on Layer-1 experience (transport, DWDM, optical fiber, circuit troubleshooting).
- Experience with deployment of networking hardware (routers, modems, switches, firewalls).
- Deep understanding of service provider networks (Ethernet, IPv4, IPv6, MPLS, BGP, OSPF, IS-IS).
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Security Clearance.
- Must conform to U.S. Government export regulations (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, Refugee, or Asylee).
Nice to have
- Master’s degree in a technical or engineering discipline.
- Experience implementing network security functions.
- Cisco, Juniper, Arista, or other industry certification.
