Location: Hybrid, UK based role (1 day every other week in Manchester office required)

Salary: £75,000–£85,000

What you will do

• Lead a cross-functional team, owning delivery of end-to-end product features and platform improvements.
• Line-manage a small group of engineers, supporting their growth, performance, and wellbeing.
• Write, review, and maintain high-quality code across the full stack (TypeScript, Node.js, Next.js, AWS).
• Guide architectural and design decisions, ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, and maintainable.
• Collaborate with product, design, and QA to plan, scope, break down, and deliver impactful work.
• Identify and manage technical debt within your stream, ensuring sustainable delivery.

Requirements

• Deep experience across the full stack, ideally with TypeScript, Node.js, Next.js, and AWS.
• Ability to balance hands-on technical work with effective team leadership.
• Experience mentoring engineers, driving best practices, and making informed architectural decisions.
• Proactive in identifying technical challenges and optimising performance.
• Effective collaboration with cross-functional teams, including product managers and designers.
• Advocacy for CI/CD, automated testing, and security best practices.
• Clear communication of complex technical concepts to both engineering and non-technical stakeholders.
