Senior Software Engineer, Capacity & Efficiency (AWS Cloud): Building and optimizing high-load backend services for managing, governing, and reducing AWS cloud spend with an accent on cost attribution, anomaly detection, and actionable insights. Focus on designing and implementing solutions for infrastructure usage patterns, ensuring scalability and reliability across Kubernetes and AWS environments.
Location: This role is based in our Bellevue, WA office, with in-person attendance expected at least 3 days per week.
Salary: $196,000 - $230,000 USD (Zone 1 - Bellevue, WA)

What you will do
- Build and maintain software systems for detecting, tracking, and attributing AWS cloud costs.
- Develop tooling to identify cost anomalies, regressions, and over-provisioned resources across Kubernetes and managed services.
- Partner with Data Science to support forecasting models, unit economics, and cost projections.
- Analyze infrastructure usage patterns and implement technical solutions to reduce cloud spend.
- Collaborate with partner teams to validate cost reductions and track remediation outcomes.
Requirements
- Experience building and operating production systems in a cloud-native environment, ideally on AWS.
- Strong proficiency with Kubernetes and practical understanding of resource efficiency and capacity planning.
- Experience working on infrastructure, platform, or data-heavy systems where cost, scale, and reliability matter.
- Ability to reason about cloud cost models and tradeoffs between performance, reliability, and spend.
- Clear communication skills and comfort working with partner teams to explain findings and technical recommendations.
