Senior Software Engineer (AI): Develop and improve web platform features in the Chromium rendering pipeline to bridge the gap between native applications and the web with an accent on performance and interoperability. Location: Employees who live within a 50- mile commute of a designated Microsoft office in the U.S. are expected to work from the office at least four days per week.

Salary: USD $119,800 – $234,700 per year

What you will do

• Develop and improve web platform features in Chromium rendering pipeline.
• Collaborate with engineers and program managers on open-source projects.
• Partner with standards and upstream communities (W3C, Chromium) to shape APIs and implementation details.
• Deliver web platform innovation in important areas of the browser engine.
• Contribute directly to the Chromium project.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
• Design, coding, and debugging skills in modern programming languages.

Nice to have

• Master’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience.
• Cross-platform development experience.
• Experience contributing to a large-scale software engineering project.
