TL;DR

Backend Engineer (Golang): Building and optimizing backend services for a secure second-hand marketplace with an accent on extracting functionality from monoliths into Golang microservices and scaling systems. Focus on detecting and restricting harmful activities, ensuring fair actions, and system reliability for 85 million users.

Location: Hybrid (Lithuania). 2 days in the office are recommended but not enforced, with offices in Vilnius and Kaunas.

Salary: €3,558 – €4,808 gross per month.

What you will do

• Work on extracting existing functionality from the Ruby monolith into standalone service(s) using Golang.
• Contribute to continuously tested and deployed applications by adding tests and implementing feature flags.
• Break down medium-sized engineering problems in collaboration with more senior engineers.
• Monitor your deployed code through tools like Kibana, Grafana, and DataDog.
• Apply Agile and Lean principles, collaborating with developers through GitHub pull requests and code reviews.
• Own SLIs/SLOs in the product team to ensure quality and reliability for 85 million users.

Requirements

• Solid backend engineering skills, with experience in Golang or Ruby.
• Willingness to learn and excel at new technologies and concepts.
• Experience with, or willingness to learn about, enterprise architecture patterns and (micro)services.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team, giving and receiving feedback.
• Good communication skills to discuss complicated topics with both business people and engineers.
• English: B2 required.
