Senior Database Reliability Engineer (Cloud/SRE)

What you will do

• Build a deep understanding of hirify.global's systems to identify risks and opportunities for remediation.
• Own, drive, and improve the incident management process, participating in a follow-the-sun model.
• Define SLOs and SLIs for all services and introduce error budgeting.
• Own and improve observability across all services.
• Build software solutions to enable reliability and operability of large-scale distributed systems.
• Build tools and automation to eliminate toil, reduce operational overhead, and create engineering best practices.

Requirements

• Strong software engineering background with an operational, infrastructural, or SRE mentality.
• Production experience in a major cloud environment with CI/CD deployments and managed services.
• Experience bootstrapping and provisioning services via infrastructure-as-code (IaC) systems.
• Strong knowledge of *nix-based operating systems, their internals, and advanced troubleshooting.
• Experience working with VMs, containers, and container orchestration systems.
• Experience with RDBMS and NoSQL storage solutions in production environments.

Nice to have

• Good understanding of database indexing, locking, replication, and sharding.
• Experience with CloudFormation/CDK, ECS, ElasticBeanstalk.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, AuroraDB.
• Experience with Typescript or any JavaScript based framework.
