Data Scientist (Battery Optimization): Develops and improves short-term trading asset scheduling models for an in-house built platform, enhancing the value of hirify.global’s diverse asset portfolio. Focus on optimizing energy asset dispatch through mathematical modelling and ensuring operational stability in collaboration with various teams.

Location: Hybrid work in Rotterdam, with the possibility to work abroad (within approved countries) up to 3 weeks/year, max 2 consecutively.

Salary: €86.000 - €120.000

What you will do

• Optimize energy asset dispatch through mathematical modelling (Gurobi).
• Drive innovation and improve modelling to stay ahead of the market.
• Design and implement monitoring frameworks for asset performance, based on real-time/realized asset data.
• Translate contracts and market opportunities into mathematical models.
• Collaborate with Business and Tech to develop and improve models in a robust and reliable manner.
• Ensure operational stability together with traders, Tech, product managers and dispatchers.

Requirements

• Quantitative MSc or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Physics, or a related field.
• Around 5 years of experience in data science roles, with prior experience in the energy sector or trading is a plus.
• Experience with building and deploying scalable trading and/or optimization algorithms in the cloud.
• Strong background in Python development: write modular and clean code, implement unit tests and proper monitoring.
• Experience with SQL databases, Databricks and streaming data.
• Strong command of English (Dutch is a plus).
