We are looking for an experienced Java Backend Developer to design and implement backend services and data pipelines for an analytics platform in the insurance-linked securities (ILS) market. The product processes unstructured deal data and delivers daily valuations and indices to financial institutions, helping them understand how risk is priced and how portfolios perform in changing market conditions.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain Java backend services and SQL-based data models.
Build and document APIs and work with large structured/unstructured datasets.
Use Kafka for data streaming and integration.
Write unit/integration tests, join code reviews, and contribute to architecture and planning.
Collaborate with frontend and DevOps teams to ensure reliability.
Requirements
5+ years of backend development with Java.
Strong SQL and relational DB skills.
Solid Kafka experience.
Experience with API design, microservices, containers, and cloud platforms.
Fluent English and a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
Nice to have: serverless (e.g. AWS Lambda), finance/insurance background.
