TL;DR

Applied Scientist 2 (AI): Designs and implements highly scalable and low-latency services to power Bing search, focusing on resource scheduling, distributed object storage systems, and AI-powered search and NLP. Location: Expected to work from the Microsoft office at least four days per week if living within a 50-mile commute of a designated Microsoft office in the U.S. or 25-mile commute of a non-U.S., country-specific location.

• Collaborate effectively with multiple teams, demonstrating solid partnership and communication skills.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related field AND 2+ years related experience
• OR Master’s Degree in Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related field AND 1+ year(s) related experience
• OR Doctorate in Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience.
• 1+ years of programming experience in Python, C++, C#, or similar languages.
• Familiarity with data mining, machine learning, classification, clustering, or related areas.
• Ability to think creatively and deliver innovative solutions to complex problems.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related field AND 5+ years related experience
• OR Master’s Degree in Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related field AND 3+ years related experience
• OR Doctorate in Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related field AND 1+ year(s) related experience or equivalent experience.
• Experience in search technologies, information retrieval, or large-scale distributed systems.
• Expertise in Deep Learning, especially Natural Language Processing (NLP).
