Member Of Technical Staff, Compute Orchestration & Scheduling – MAI Superintelligence Team (AI): Designing and building the compute orchestration and scheduling layer on top of Kubernetes and Ray for foundational AI models with an accent on workload placement, scaling, and reliability. Focus on improving cluster efficiency, ensuring observability in production, and driving architectural changes for relevant software and hardware components.

Location: This role is based in Zürich, Switzerland. Starting January 26, 2026, employees are expected to work from a designated Microsoft office at least four days a week if they live within 25 miles of that location.

What you will do

• Design and build compute orchestration and scheduling layers using Kubernetes and Ray.
• Develop and tune scalable software for Nvidia GB200 and AMD MIxxx architectures.
• Benchmark GPU clusters and gather insights for the pretraining compute roadmap.
• Actively contribute to the development of AI models for innovative products.
• Drive architectural changes and influence the roadmap of software and hardware components.
• Ensure compute platform observability, operability, and cluster efficiency in production.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• 6+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
• Deep care about conversational AI and its deployment.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, design-driven, product development cycle.
• Experience overcoming roadblocks to deliver work quickly and iteratively.

Nice to have

• Master’s Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• 8+ years of technical engineering experience (with Master's) OR 12+ years (with Bachelor's).
