What you will do

• Edit a variety of video content for news, including breaking news, social cuts, and reels.
• Tailor videos for various social platforms to maximise plays, page views, and engagement.
• Collaborate with senior editors and commissioners to gain hands-on experience and meet editorial standards.
• Implement best practices for SEO and metadata management to ensure videos are discoverable.
• Add graphics, captions, and animations to create visually engaging and compelling content.
• Publish video content quickly for breaking news stories with speed and accuracy.

Requirements

• Proficiency in video editing software for digital news or fast-paced media environments.
• Technical understanding of platform-specific requirements for YouTube, TikTok, and Facebook.
• Experience working in a digital newsroom or a similar media setting.
• Knowledge of basic journalistic practices and editorial standards.
• Ability to work a rolling shift pattern across seven days, including days and evenings.
• Creative flair for storytelling through video and digital media.
