What you will do

• Serve as the Oracle database authority for the product, advising development teams on SQL/PLSQL optimization and schema design.
• Design and maintain database monitoring and observability, leveraging Oracle diagnostic and monitoring tools.
• Proactively identify and resolve performance, scalability, and reliability issues.
• Lead advanced troubleshooting of complex database problems, such as performance degradation and resource exhaustion.
• Define and enforce database best practices and operational standards.
• Work directly with customers to monitor, tune, and optimize on-premises/private cloud Oracle instances; occasional on-site customer work may be required.

Requirements

• Senior-level experience as an Oracle DBA / Database Performance Specialist.
• Deep knowledge of Oracle architecture, internals, SQL, and PL/SQL.
• Proven expertise in performance tuning, monitoring, and diagnostics.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across production Oracle environments.
• Experience in customer-facing roles, able to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Comfortable supporting on-premise deployments and participating in on-site engagements.

Nice to have

• Experience with Codebeamer or other ALM/PLM tools.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Knowledge of containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Scripting experience (Bash, Python, or similar).
• Experience with automation and Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Ansible, Terraform).
