Backend Engineer (PHP)

TL;DR

Backend Engineer (PHP): Building and optimizing high-performance backend services for a banking application with an accent on stability, performance, and seamless user experiences. Focus on designing scalable backend structures, collaborating with product teams, and developing efficient processes for user-facing features.

Location: Hybrid setup (after 3 months in-office, work 2 days remote, 3 days in-office weekly) in Amsterdam or Istanbul. Digital Nomad Program available after the first year for up to 20 days per year.

What you will do

• Take ownership of backend development to ensure unparalleled stability and performance.
• Build user-facing features for the banking app.
• Collaborate with product teams to propose and design backend structures for new features.
• Support other departments by developing and maintaining processes.
• Utilize technologies like MySQL, Redis, Elasticsearch, and PHP to develop the bank of The Free.

Requirements

• Experience in any object-oriented language (no prior PHP experience needed as the backend is intuitive).
• Ability to tinker and test your own projects.
• Creativity to build industry-breaking user-facing features.
• Ability to coordinate efforts to increase efficiency and scalability.
• English: C1 fluent in both speaking and writing.
