TL;DR

Character Artist (Game Development): Conceptualizing, modelling, and texturing beautifully crafted characters to tell stories with an accent on clean geometry, texture, and material work. Focus on showcasing creative flare, solid topology, UVs, and proficiency in Maya, Zbrush, and Photoshop.

Location: Onsite in Edinburgh, United Kingdom. This is a UK-based 12-month Fixed Term Contract.

What you will do

• Conceptualize, model, and texture characters to tell stories.
• Create beautifully constructed characters with clean geometry.
• Ensure high quality texture and material work.
• Utilize experience in Maya, Zbrush, and Photoshop.
• Apply knowledge of anatomy and facial blendshapes.

Requirements

• Minimum two years of experience as a Character Artist in the industry.
• Ability to showcase creative flare, solid topology, UVs, and texturing.
• Deep understanding and knowledge in Maya, Zbrush, and Photoshop.
• Portfolio demonstrating flexibility and an eye for form, shape, composition.
• Experience with Substance Painter.
• Hair authoring experience (strand-based and hair cards).
• Knowledge of MetaHuman and hard surface work.

Nice to have

• Good working knowledge of Unreal Engine 4/5.
• Experience using Marvelous Designer and/or scan development pipelines.
