What you will do

• Conduct code reviews, refactoring, and optimizations to enhance database performance and maintainability.
• Ensure adherence to organizational coding and database design standards.
• Collaborate with QA for load testing to ensure performance improvements with each release.
• Analyze execution plans and query metrics to identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements.
• Detect and troubleshoot wait times, and assess buffer pool stability and reliability.
• Identify patterns in performance regression, take ownership of initiatives, and participate in R&D POCs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or related experience.
• 5+ years of experience in database performance engineering, database administration, or database development.
• Strong expertise in database management systems (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL).
• Proficient in performance tuning, query optimization, and database design principles.
• Experience with database monitoring and performance analysis tools (e.g., DataDog, NewRelic, Grafana, AWS CloudWatch).
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and communication skills, with the capacity to work independently.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with cloud database services (e.g., AWS EC2, AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL VM).
