Design System Operations Manager

Focus on ensuring alignment, transparency, and successful system adoption across teams.

What you will do

• Oversee operational aspects of the Design System, including governance, documentation, and process adherence.
• Manage pilot teams during initial rollout and track adoption metrics.
• Act as the primary liaison between design, product, and engineering teams, driving adoption and maintaining transparent communication.
• Enforce design system guidelines, accessibility standards, and brand consistency.
• Support broader design operations initiatives beyond the design system and manage Jira processes.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of hands-on UX/UI design and/or frontend development experience.
• 3–5 years of project management experience in design or UI/UX environments.
• Proven experience building, maintaining, or operating design systems.
• Strong understanding of atomic design principles and agile methodologies.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).

Nice to have

• Experience managing pilots or phased rollouts.
• Experience in design operations, contribution workflows, or research coordination.
• PMP, CSM, or equivalent certification.
• Experience working with distributed teams.
• Knowledge of Figma and design system CMS tools (e.g., Supernova or similar).
• Familiarity with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and React.
• Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG) and responsive design principles.
